Welcome to my home on the internet

I live in New York City and I play, write, arrange, and produce music for myself and lots of other people. I spend quite a bit of time in Austin, Texas, and travel around the country with various groups. I've contributed performances, compositions, and arrangements to recordings by bands like Snarky Puppy, Okkervil River, Bill Laurance, Nelo, and many more. My band is Progger.

Modern jazz night @ Ghost Room, 3/6/11, other gigs too

I'm very excited to announce my first gig in Austin as a leader!  (Not counting some stuff with Moosehound a couple years ago.)  I'll be playing a set of my original tunes at the Ghost Room on Sunday, March 6th, and I'll have some really awesome players helping me out:  Carter Arrington on guitar, Mike St.Clair on bass, and David Sierra on drums.  I'll be playing tenor saxophone, probably with some pedals.  There will be a couple other groups playing sets that night, as well, and I don't think there will be a cover charge... so you'll get lots of good music for your money.  I'd love to see some people out supporting modern jazz in Austin, so please help spread the word, if you're feeling it!

Plenty of other gigs coming up over the next few weeks, too:

2/22: Schotzi's (inside), with Nelo acoustic, College Station, TX
2/23: Stomping Grounds, with Chris Lloyd, Austin, TX
2/24: Florence Vineyard, Florence, TX (6:30-8:30pm)
2/24: Ruta Maya, Austin, TX, with Michael Rey's big band (10pm)
3/4: The Parish, with Nelo, Austin, TX
3/6: The Ghost Room, with my group, Austin, TX
3/15: Austin Rodeo, with Nelo, Austin, TX
3/14-3/19: South By Southwest with Nelo, Austin, TX
3/25: Schotzi's (outside), with Nelo, College Station, TX
3/31: Blue Light, with Nelo, Lubbock, TX
4/1: High Ball, with the Monster Big Band, Austin, TX

As always, if you're out at a show or a gig, come say hi.  Looking forward to playing with some good musicians over the next month.
